While the UN devotes its human rights operations to the demonization of the democratic state of Israel above all others and condemns the United States more often than the vast majority of non-democracies around the world, the voices of real victims around the world must be heard.

The head of police in Jerusalem announced on Monday evening that the bus explosion in the capital earlier in the day was caused by a bomb. He said there was no doubt that the incident was a terrorist attack.

At least 20 people were injured by an explosion on a bus in Jerusalem, police said Monday.

It was earlier reported that police were investigating whether one of the critically injured in the explosion was carrying a small explosive device.

Police said that an empty bus on Hebron Road exploded and the injuries occurred after another bus nearby was damaged in the incident, with two in critical condition. Medical Emergency Services also said that at least seven were in moderate condition and another nine in light condition.

The wounded were evacuated to nearby Shaare Zedek Medical Center and Hadassah University Medical Center.

"When we arrived to the scene of the incident we saw 16 people injured, lying on the ground. They were suffering from injuries including burns and bruises and were given primary health care," a spokesperson for Magen David Adom said.

Attacks on Israeli buses by suicide bombers were a hallmark of the Palestinian uprising in 2000-2005 but have been rare since.
