Two Israeli soldiers were lightly injured in a stabbing attack inside an Israeli settlement in the central West Bank Wednesday evening, the second such attack in the area in a day.

The stabbing took place after 7 p.m. at the entrance to the settlement of Har Bracha, south of Nablus, as two assailants attacked soldiers at the settlement guard booth, the IDF said.

After stabbing two soldiers, the attackers escaped the scene. Troops launched a large manhunt for the attackers and area residents were told to stay in their homes.

Initial reports indicated the soldiers' guns had been stolen, but the weapons, which the soldiers had not been carrying at the time of the attack, were soon found nearby.

One victim suffered a wound to his shoulder and was taken to a hospital in Petah Tikva. The second soldier was treated for light injuries at the scene, according to the Magen David Adom rescue service.

Two Palestinians were arrested outside the nearby settlement of Yitzhar shortly after the stabbing, though they were not thought to have been linked to the Har Bracha attack.

Roee Harel, victim of the attack

An Israeli father of five was lightly injured early Wednesday morning when two Palestinian men assaulted him after breaking into the West Bank settlement of Eli. The two were shot dead by the settlement's security detail.

The victim, Roee Harel, was beaten and stabbed with a knife at his home and taken to Jerusalem's Shaare Zedek Medical Center for treatment.

"A victim was brought to the trauma center of Shaare Zedek with a number of stab wounds to the upper body. He is in stable and in fair condition," a hospital spokesperson said.

The two terrorists attempted to enter homes in the West Bank community and then hid, Army Radio reported. The two attackers were identified by Palestinian police as Labib Azzam and Mohammed Zaghlwan, aged 17 and from the village of Qaryut near the settlement.

"Upon the significant threat to the people of the community, forces shot the attackers, resulting in their death," the IDF said in a statement.

Harel, who was wearing his Israeli army uniform because he was set to start a stint of reserve duty at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, said that he struggled with the attackers in his home and then pushed them out before they were shot by security forces. Harel told reporters he chased them to the doors of his children's bedrooms and managed to push them outside the house and lock the door.

"I opened the door and saw two [men] in black jumping me with clubs," he told Army Radio. "After a struggle I managed to push them out. Later, when we opened the door, we saw there was a knife stuck in it."

"If anyone has any doubts as to their intentions, two 17-year-olds came to slaughter me, my wife and my kids," Harel told Ynet. "In the seconds during which I fought with them, I thought to myself that what happened to the Fogel and Gavish families. I screamed to my wife to call the settlement's guard, the children woke up and cried, but my wife was with them in the bedroom, so they hardly saw anything."

Ruth and Udi Fogel and three of their five children, aged 3 months to 11 years, were murdered in their beds by Palestinian attackers who entered their home in the West Bank settlement of Itamar. Four members of the Gavish family, including both parents, one of their seven children and a grandfather were killed by a Palestinian attacker in 2002 in their home in Elon Moreh, located near Nablus in the West Bank.

Residents of the community of roughly 4,000 people were instructed to remain in their homes following the early morning incident.

Eli is located approximately 20 miles north of Jerusalem in the central West Bank.

The incident was the latest in a string of Palestinian attacks targeting Israelis in recent months.

Last week a Palestinian man attacked an unarmed 48-year-old Israeli security guard in the West Bank settlement of Ma'ale Adumim with an ax, seriously injuring him. A suspect was apprehended by Israeli security forces Saturday night.

Twenty-nine Israelis and three foreign nationals have been killed in a wave of Palestinian terrorism and violence since October. Around 170 Palestinians have also been killed, some two-thirds of them while attacking Israelis, and the rest during clashes with troops, according to the Israeli army.

The woman, 19, reportedly spent time alone with a 21 year-old man.

A teenage woman is forced to kneel submissively before a baying crowd as she prepares to receive her punishment of 50 lashes - because she had begun dating.

The 19-year-old woman was whipped in front of a large cheering crowd for her 'crime' in Indonesia's Aceh province.

She was accused of 'spending time alone' with a 21-year-old man, who was punished alongside her in Banda Aceh, the capital of the Sumatra province.

The couple were among 18 people lashed in public for breaking the province's strict implementation of Islamic Sharia law on Tuesday.

A hooded man meted out lashings with a rattan cane on a stage next to the mosque in Banda Aceh, with the teenager kneeling in front of him.

The girl and the man had been caught spending time alone together, which is against the law for unmarried Muslim couples in the province.

Public caning happens on a regular basis in Aceh, the only province in the world's most populous Muslim-majority country to implement Islamic sharia law, but is less common for women.

Aceh began implementing sharia law after being granted special autonomy in 2001, an effort by the central government in Jakarta to quell a long-running separatist insurgency.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 4802 people in January 2016.

The death toll is as follows:

1109 civilians, including 234 children and 156 women, distributed as follows:

488 civilians including 127 children and 80 women were killed by aerial bombardment by Russian and Syrian warplanes, 2 civilians were tortured to death in regime prisons, 23 civilians including 15 children and 4 women died due to poor life conditions, 96 civilians including 19 children and 22 women were killed by shells fired by IS, rebels SDF, and YPG. 27 civilians including 5 women were executed by the IS, 127 civilians including 27 children and 29 women were killed by suicide attacks in different areas, and 285 civilians including 46 children and 16 women were killed in different circumstances such as aerial bombardment by the coalition warplanes, regime's bombardment, IEDs, Snipers, or by unknown militiamen.

Syrian fighters of YPG, Rebel and Islamist factions: 724.

Non- Syrian fighters of IS, Jabhat al- Nusra, Jaysh al Muhajereen wal Ansra Army and the Islamist factions: 1080.

Defected soldiers: 6.

Regular regime soldiers and officers: 743.

Hezbollah militiamen: 18.

Non- Syrian pro- regime fighters who are from the Shiite Sect: 113.

Unidentified victims : 42

We in the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights estimates the real number of non-Syrian casualties from the IS, Jabhat al- Nusra, Islamic factions, Jund Al-Aqsa battalion and pro-regime militants is approximately 300 of soldiers and fighters more than the documented number because of reticence about casualties by all parties, the difficulties of reaching to the outback and the difficulties to investigate about those who have died inside the regime or IS jails.

SOHR is not going to stop to calls upon the members of the UN Security Council to issue a binding resolution that prohibits targeting the civilians in Syria, where massacres committed against them every day under the nose of the international community which do not make any step to stop the ongoing violations committed against the Syrian people who dream of establishing the state of democracy, justice, freedom and equality.

The burka-clad babysitter with the severed head of a four-year-old girl

A burka-clad babysitter decapitated the little girl in her care before walking through Moscow carrying the child's severed head, police say.

The woman shouted 'Allahu Akbar' as she appeared near Oktyabrskoye Pole metro station in the northwest of the Russian capital and threatened to blow herself up.

It came hours after officers found the headless body of a child when they were called to a fire at a block of flats in the city.

The victim was a girl identified as Nastya M - and the child's 38-year-old nanny Gyulchehra Bobokulova, from Uzbekistan, has been arrested.

The woman was seen pulling the severed head out of a bag and walking around near the entrance to the metro station as police moved in.

She is then said to have shouted that she had killed the child and was seen praying shortly before officers swooped.

One eyewitness at the underground station told MK how the woman screamed: 'My child was killed...I will blow up everyone.' She also shouted: 'I hate democracy'.

A journalist working for RBC daily, said she had heard the woman screaming 'Allahu Akbar" (God is Great).

'I was on my way to the metro station from home,' Polina Nikolskaya, the reporter said.

'She was standing near the metro entrance and caught my attention because she was screaming Allahu Akbar. I saw that she had a bloodied head in her arms, but I thought it was not real. People in the crowd said it was real.'

In other footage of the scene, the woman can be heard shouting about the end of the world while proclaiming herself a terrorist.

The station was closed to passengers for some time, but no explosives were found on her.

Dramatic footage shows the moment police sprinted in towards the woman and tackling her to the ground.

According to Profile, a spokesman from the Investigative Committee of Russia said: 'Given the clearly inappropriate behaviour of the person detained, investigators immediately appointed her to a forensic psychiatric examination to determine their ability to realise the significance of their actions and deeds.'

Emergency services had earlier been called to an apartment nearby amid reports of black smoke billowing out windows.
