The scene after the Maxim restaurant bombing in 2003, in which Oren Almog was blinded and his family murdered by Palestinian terrorists

"Oren Almog, who lost five members of his family along with his eyesight in a terrorist attack at the Maxim restaurant in Haifa in 2003, where 21 died and 51 were wounded, will speak at the UN Security Council next month as part of the Israeli government's struggle against the Palestinian Authority's payments to convicted terrorists.

Almog will travel to the UN Security Council at the initiative of Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, and in cooperation with the pro-Israel advocacy organization StandWithUs.

'Those responsible for the murder of my family receive a monthly payment from the PA,' Almog told Yedioth Ahronoth. 'The Palestinian leadership speaks to the world about peace, but pays the terrorists and their families. This is explicit support for the murder of innocents. I will come to the UN and call upon the international community to act to stop this funding and to prevent future terror attacks.'...

Almog's father Moshe, his brother Tomer, his grandfather Ze'ev, his grandmother Ruth and his cousin Asaf all perished in the attack. His mother, sister and aunt were wounded. The person who planned the attack, along with the person who aided Jaradat in the execution of the bombing, were sentenced to decades in prison, yet receive $3,000 a month from the PA..."

Palestinian representative Saeb Erekat (File photo)

On June 29, 2017 in New York, at a "U.N. Forum to Mark 50 Years of Occupation," Palestinian representative Saeb Erekat laid bare why Israel has no "peace partner."

In addition to denying the legitimacy of a Jewish state, this Palestinian revisionist claimed his ancestors came to the land so many thousands of years before Jews. The mystified audience was left wondering whether he was hoping they were Neanderthals.

His remarks were made at a forum organized by the U.N.'s Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, which was created to implement the 1975 General Assembly "Zionism is racism" resolution.

Said Palestinian representative Erekat:

"I'm the son of Jericho. I'm 10,000 years a son of the Natufians. We were there 5,500 years before Isho ben Nun came to my home town, Jericho. That's the truth. This is my narrative....So when Mr. Netanyahu says you must recognize Israel as a Jewish state, he is telling me hey, change your narrative. That's what he's doing. He's turning this conflict into a religious conflict...Call it Islamic state, Jewish state, that should be a forbidden zone..."

Erekat's hate-filled UN-sponsored diatribe also included classic antisemitism, blaming money-grubbing Jews for the regions' ills.

In his words:

"So I think a question that I would like to see answered or a general opinion is, is the Jewish religion being exploited for economic gains by a key elite segment within Israeli society? And are they the ones that are driving this conflict..."

UN trumpets Palestinian revisionist fraud: all of Israel is Palestinian, no to a Jewish state. Development

Palestinian representative and negotiator Saeb Erekat (File photo)

At an anti-Israel U.N. "Forum to Mark 50 Years of Occupation" on June 29, 2017, an invited Palestinian official equated the "Jewish State", with ISIS, the "Islamic State." Saeb Erekat, a Palestinian representative and top negotiator, made the remarks during the opening of an extraordinary two-day UN-sponsored Israel-bashing event.

In Erekat's words:

"There are two ways combined to defeat ISIS. One is ending the Israeli occupation that began in 1967...Ending the Israeli occupation is a must, is a responsibility for the international community. And the logic of some of those who argue that why should Israel make peace, it has 5,000 tanks, it has 3,000 fighting planes and nuclear weapons, Congress, Senate, and Nikki Haley to defend them justly or unjustly. And then these people stand to speak about defeating ISIS. Enough. Enough."

A previous session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee

"Israel hopes to sway the World Heritage Committee to vote by secret ballot when it decides on July 7 whether to inscribe Hebron's Old City and the Tomb of the Patriarchs on the List of World Heritage in Danger under the 'State of Palestine.'

'There is no doubt that if there is a public ballot, we will lose,' Ambassador to UNESCO in Paris Carmel Shama-Hacohen told The Jerusalem Post on Wednesday...

It's so close, Shama-Hacohen said, that one vote could make the difference.

Four of the 21 member states – Cuba, Indonesia, Kuwait and Lebanon – do not have diplomatic ties with Israel. Shama- Hacohen believes that one of those nations would oppose the inscription of Hebron if the ballot were secret.

Typically, inscription votes are by consensus, unless a roll call vote is requested. Two World Heritage Committee member states can also ask for a secret ballot. Israel has yet to find two such states.

Alternatively, it has asked Poland, which chairs the committee, to hold a secret ballot on the matter, but has yet to receive a response...

The other member states of the committee are: Angola, Azerbaijan, Burkina Faso, Croatia, Finland, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Republic of Korea, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Tunisia, Turkey, Tanzania, Vietnam and Zimbabwe.
,br> Jewish roots in Hebron date back to the book of Genesis, when Abraham bought the burial cave. The Herodian structure also houses the Ibrahimi Mosque.

On July 10, the same committee will also vote on a resolution submitted by Jordan that disavows Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem."

Peter Thomson, the President of the U.N. General Assembly, wearing a pro-Palestinian scarf during the 2016 U.N. Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People

On June 29 and 30, 2017, a U.N. committee will hold a "Forum to Mark Fifty Years of Occupation" aimed at demonizing Israel, encouraging violence and the hatred of Jews, and rewriting history. The forum has been organized by the U.N. "Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People" (CEIRPP), which was created on the same day as the infamous "Zionism is racism" resolution in 1975. Although the resolution was ultimately rescinded in 1991, the committee created to implement its antisemitic message was left in place and continues to operate.

Among the invited speakers are a host individuals hand-picked by the U.N. Committee because of their known support for Palestinian terrorism, involvement in incitement to violence, and promotion of antisemitism. They include:

Saeb Erekat (Secretary-General of the Palestine Liberation Organization): "We are protecting ourselves with the bodies of our sons and daughters, because Israel does not protect itself, but rather its crimes, occupation and settlement... Whoever wants to fight ISIS and terror in the region, must understand that this can't be done without drying up the quagmire of Israeli occupation in the region.'"

Mouin Rabbani (Institute for Palestine Studies): "...Netanyahu is the heir to that faction of the pre-state Zionist movement eventually known as revisionism, which was in fact inspired by fascism, albeit an Italian variant led by Mussolini. Um, and during World War II, in 1941, one faction of that movement, which was eventually led by Yitzhak Shamir, made an approach to Nazi Germany, during the Holocaust I should add, proposing an alliance with Berlin against the British, who then ruled Palestine. So, there's a long history here. Netanyahu today is the heir and the leader of that wing of the Zionist movement."

Nabil Elaraby (Secretary-General of the League of Arab States): Speaking of Israel Elaraby "...said the country 'has truly become the last bastion of fascism, colonialism and racial discrimination in the world."
"Israel has unleashed war. It is a war of racism... The Israeli government has adopted a law to strengthen the Jewish essence of Israel...Israel has ... committed crimes and massacres, horrible massacres, of Palestinian people...These are crimes described as war crimes, as genocide..."

Robert Blecher (International Crisis Group): "Hamas had little to lose on the eve of June 25, when a raid by its military wing and two other armed groups captured Cpl. Gilad Shalit and killed two of his fellow soldiers at the Kerem Shalom army post on the Gaza-Israel border. Ever since the Islamist party formed a government in March, it has been systematically denied the resources necessary for domestic governance and the ability to implement a foreign policy... Israel, the US and the European Union refused to accept the new Palestinian government as a negotiating partner, turning back the diplomatic clock to September 1, 1975, when Secretary of State Henry Kissinger committed the US not to talk to the Palestine Liberation Organization unless it renounced terrorism and accepted Israel's right to exist."

Mustafa Barghouti (Al Bubadara Secretary-General):While serving as the president of the Palestinian Medical Relief Society, his organization wrote "The segregationist apartheid-style policies employed by the Israeli authorities and the subsequent restrictions imposed on the Palestinian people are in contravention to multiple international declarations and conventions to which Israel is party. Israel has been internationally condemned for the racist ideology and the collective punishments which it employs against the Palestinian population... "

Rebecca Vilkomerson (Jewish Voice for Peace): "... there have been attacks on Israeli civilians too. These are a horrifying symptom of ongoing occupation and repression..."

Helena Cobban (Just World Educational): "Ever since the early ethnic cleansings of 1947-48, the Palestinian people has suffered from the linked horrors of dispossession, dislocation..."

Jody Williams (Nobel Women's Initiative): Signatory to an open letter published in the Guardian during the midst of the 2014 Gaza War (when Hamas terrorists were trying to infiltrate Israel through terror tunnels, firing rockets at Israeli civilians and using the Palestinian population as human shields) that included: "Israel has once again unleashed the full force of its military against the captive Palestinian population...in an inhumane and illegal act of military aggression...We call on the UN and governments across the world to take immediate steps to implement a comprehensive and legally binding military embargo on Israel, similar to that imposed on South Africa during apartheid."

Dianna Buttu (Palestine Liberation Organization Former Legal Advisor): "I think we can't delude ourselves into believing that Zionism isn't an enemy of the Palestinian people, it is... I think we really have to question and start challenging Zionism, Zionism as a whole, not just Zionism as it pertains to the 67 borders, not just Zionism in terms of Greater Israel, but Zionism as a concept and the way that it has been implemented that seeks to replace one people with another, and that is something that we really have to start questioning... There is something actually innately antisemitic about the concept of Israel..."

The CEIRPP also intends to use the occasion to further U.N. support for the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions ("BDS") campaign, aimed at the economic strangulation of the Jewish state. Among invited BDS supporters are Omar Shakir, David Wildman, and Wesam Ahmed:

Omar Shakir (Human Rights Watch): At a past meeting organized by the CEIRPP, Shakir "called the Member States to ensure that businesses stop operating in, financing, servicing, or trading with Israeli settlements..."

David Wildman (United Methodist Church): At a prior CEIRPP meeting held at U.N. Headquarters Wildman said: "I have therefore also been very involved in the boycott, divestment and sanctions efforts of many sectors of civil society."

Wesam Ahmed (Al Haq): At a CEIRPP meeting held in Vienna Ahmed said: "Another avenue of action was to challenge third States and private corporations over their relations with Israel. Counterproductive actions, on the other hand, included permitting Israel to join the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) or holding a Union of European Football Association (UEFA) meeting in Tel Aviv. Those recent actions suggested to the Israeli people that life was normal..."

"A tentative deal to cut nearly $600 million from the UN peacekeeping budget was reached on Wednesday, capping weeks of tough negotiations over US demands for a sharp reduction in costs, UN diplomats said.

Under the deal agreed by a budget committee of the General Assembly, the United Nations will spend $7.3 billion on peacekeeping in the coming year, down from the current $7.87 billion -- roughly a seven percent cut -- according to diplomats familiar with the negotiations.

The United States, the biggest financial contributor to UN peacekeeping, had sought a nearly $1 billion cut to the bill and the European Union had also pushed for savings to bring costs down to $7.3 billion...

US Ambassador Nikki Haley wants to bring the US share of the peacekeeping budget down to 25 percent. China, Japan, Germany and France are the four biggest peacekeeping financial backers after the United States.

The budget deal falls short of what UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres was seeking. He had put forward a budget of $7.97 billion for the year which runs from July 1 to June 30, 2018..."

Haitians protest against U.N. peacekeepers over the cholera epidemic (File photo)

"Even as the United Nations expresses growing alarm over a cholera outbreak in war-ravaged Yemen, the organization is increasingly worried about the fallout from a stubborn cholera scourge in Haiti that was caused by its own peacekeepers more than six years ago.

A $400 million voluntary trust fund for Haiti to battle cholera was created last year by Ban Ki-moon, then the secretary general, when he apologized for the United Nations' role after having repeatedly denied any responsibility. But the fund, meant in part to compensate cholera victims, garnered only a few million dollars and is now nearly empty.

Entreaties by Mr. Ban's successor, António Guterres, for charitable contributions have gone unanswered. Moreover, a proposal announced on June 14 by Mr. Guterres's office to repurpose $40.5 million in leftover money from the soon-to-be disbanded peacekeeping mission in Haiti for use in the cholera fight has faced strong resistance from other countries...

Roughly 10,000 Haitians have died and nearly a million have been sickened since cholera was introduced into Haiti in 2010 by infected United Nations peacekeepers from Nepal. Studies showed the cholera bacteria came from poor sanitation by the peacekeepers.

The United Nations never acknowledged it was at fault, and even when Mr. Ban apologized last December for its failure, he worded the apology to avoid any mention of who had brought the cholera to Haiti, the Western Hemisphere's poorest country..."

A view of the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron, Israel

"Israel has turned down UNESCO's request to visit Hebron, citing "politicization" of the holy site. Israel has turned down a request by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to visit Hebron ahead of an upcoming vote by the organization to register the town's Old City as a Palestinian World Heritage Site.

'As a matter of principle, Israel will not provide legitimization to any Palestinian political move under the guise of culture and heritage,' said Israel's ambassador to UNESCO, Carmel Shama-Hacohen. The Palestinian Authority submitted a request to list Hebron's Old City, including the Tomb of the Patriarchs, as a World Heritage Site in 2012 – a process that could take years – but is now trying to fast-track the application by claiming that the site is endangered.

Shama-Hacohen described the Palestinian request as 'tainted by politicization, lies and libel against the State of Israel and against the Jewish people's connection to the site... the Palestinians have opened another front in the religious and cultural war they are trying to impose on us.' UNESCO's World Heritage Committee meets July 2-12 in Krakow, Poland, for its annual assembly. Hebron's Old City is listed on the agenda as 'Hebron/Al-Khalil Old Town, Palestine.'..."
