The U.N.'s Anti-Semitic Alliance Article

In the presence of Secretary of State John Kerry, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu claims "we are fighting against antisemitism" - despite the fact that his Prime Minister's words this week were clear evidence they are doing precisely the opposite. Turkey continues to show no remorse over facilitating the attempt to open an Iranian arms depot on the Mediterranean via the "flotilla." Secretary Kerry responded to the overt Turkish antisemitism with 435 words, one of which was (finally) "objectionable."

Another Israel-bashing panel was sponsored today by the UN "Human Rights" Council. Keynote speaker Sheikha of Qatar singled out only Israel for violating the "right to education" and accused Israel of "jeopardizing" the Council's "legitimacy."
In 2009 more than 100,000 people were killed in Sri Lanka by the government forces during the conflict with the Tamils. In May 2009 the UN "Human Rights" Council adopted a one-sided resolution praising Sri Lanka government for respecting human rights during the conflict.
Today, 4 years after the massacres took place and on the sidelines of the HRC 22nd session in Geneva, several NGOs organized the screening of "No Fire Zone: The Killing Fields of Sri Lanka", a BBC Channel 4 movie. On February 27, 2013, the HR Council's President sent a letter to the Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Geneva disassociating the Council from the screening. Further, no audio or visual taping was allowed during today's side-event, nor was there any time for questions and comments after the screening. However, Sri Lanka's Geneva Ambassador was given the floor to whitewash evidence of war crimes and crimes against humanity. He "strongly protested" the screening and attacked the "authenticity" of the movie. How the real bosses of the UN "human rights" scene operate.

Professional Israel-basher, the UN's top human rights official Navi Pillay, introduced her annual report on human rights in 2012 by running "Palestine" together with mass murder in Syria. "2012 was a daunting year for human rights. The on-going crises in Syria, Mali and the Sahel region, Palestine and the Democratic Republic of the Congo have resulted in thousands of deaths, massive displacement and grave violations, marked by a climate of impunity."

At the UN Human Rights Council, newly-elected Council member the United Arab Emirates capitalized on the opportunity to enjoy its new status and cultivate its human rights image. It sent its Minister of State for Foreign Affairs to tout UAE's "great progress" in "empowerment of women", children's rights, "improving labor regulations", and promotion of "equality before the law". But here's the State Dept. Country Report on Human Rights 2011 about the UAE: "The legal punishment for conversion from Islam is death... The penal code allows men to use physical means, including violence...against female and minor family members...female victims of rape or sexual crimes faced the possibility of prosecution...Under Sharia the death penalty is the punishment for individuals who engage in consensual homosexual activity... Domestic workers routinely were subject to physical, sexual, and emotional abuse."

Iran speaks at the UN "Human Rights" Council on behalf of the 119 countries of the so-called Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). That is 60% of UN members approved of Iran preaching to a human rights assembly about "peace and security." Another Orwellian moment at the UN.
At the UN's top human rights body, Pakistan, speaking for the 56 countries in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, advocates free speech curbs for "negative stereotyping or defamation of religions"
The priorities of the UN's top human rights officer: genocide and demonizing Israel. "Hundreds of thousands of people have died in genocides in Rwanda and Bosnia and Herzegovina; the Palestinian territories are still occupied; massive violations have occurred in Iraq and Sri Lanka; and war crimes continue to be committed in numerous internal conflicts including those continuing in Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mali, Sudan and Syria."
