"Following the surprising resignation of Lebanon's prime minister, Israel is planning a diplomatic offensive to step up pressure on Iran and its Lebanese proxy Hezbollah at the United Nations, a senior Israeli government minister said Thursday.
Intelligence Minister Israel Katz told The Associated Press that he believes conditions are ripe to take a stand against Iranian actions in the region, including its support for the Lebanese Shiite militant group.
In particular, he said that Israel wants the world, after years of inaction, to tightly enforce a 2006 cease-fire agreement that called on Hezbollah to disarm and stay away from Israel's border...
Hezbollah and Israel battled Israel to a stalemate in a monthlong war in 2006 that ended in a U.N.-brokered cease-fire.
The agreement, U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701, called for the disarmament of militant groups in Lebanon and an end to arms transfers to them. The only armed forces allowed in southern Lebanon were the Lebanese national army and U.N. peacekeepers.
The cease-fire, however, has been poorly enforced, and Israel believes Hezbollah has amassed an arsenal of some 150,000 rockets and missiles aimed at Israel, much of it stockpiled near the border..."

Palestinian propaganda accusing Israel of "ethnic cleansing" and "Judaizing" Jerusalem was distributed at a UN meeting on "Israeli practices affecting the human rights of the Palestinian people." The material was distributed during a meeting of the UN's "Special Political and Decolonization" Committee, composed of all 193 UN Member States, on November 7, 2017.
The material also calls for lawfare - the use of international legal institutions to hold Israel "accountable" for spurious claims of violations of human rights or international law. Some of the propaganda calls for divestment from Israel and threatens to "make use of the appropriate mechanisms in order to hold Israel accountable." Another document, entitled "Israeli Incitement Report," turns reality on its head and accuses Israel of incitement.

Adieu to UNESCO Article
"Thirty-one new cases alleging sexual abuse or exploitation by United Nations personnel, nearly half of which involve the UN refugee agency, were filed between July and September for events stretching back at least three years, the UN said on Friday...
Of the 31 cases, 12 involve military personnel from peacekeeping operations including those in the Central African Republic and Mali.
The majority of the civilian staff cases, 15, involve the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Three cases involve the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and one the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)...
For decades, media and UN reports have exposed sexual exploitation and abuse by civilian and military UN personnel in places from Haiti to Darfur, with operations in the Central African Republic most recently in the headlines..."

Palestinian literature handed out at an anti-Israel event at the UN displayed Palestinian double speak on peace negotiations in full view. The literature, entitled "The Palestinian Position on Some Political Issues", was handed out on November 2, 2017 at a lecture by Rashid Khalidi, organized by the UN's Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People.
On one page, under the heading "Pre-Conditions," the literature states "We do not put pre-conditions for the resumption of negotiations." Merely two pages later the Palestinian publication says the opposite, stating "Negotiations cannot be resumed without a total halt on settlement activities..."
Palestinian Double Talk on Peace Exposed at the U.N. Development
The UN turned to anti-Israel extremist Rashid Khalidi as guest of honor at an event intended to demonize and delegitimize the UN member state of Israel. His comments, and those of his audience, were rife with antisemitic overtones. The event, entitled "100 years of the Balfour Declaration and its impact on the Palestinian People", was sponsored by the UN's committee dedicated to promotion of the Palestinian narrative and held at the UN on November 2, 2017. The Balfour Declaration, signed in 1917, is when the British government expressed that it "view[s] with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people..."
During the event, Khalidi described the Balfour Declaration as a "gun pointed directly at their heads" in reference to Palestinians, as well as a "declaration of war." This war, Khalidi alleged, was waged in part by the "Zionist movement with money, legal means, [and] propaganda..." Khalidi apparently had no problem entertaining questions and comments from audience members, such as: a representative of Oman inquiring about what "leverage" Jews had to make Britain forget about its interests in the Arab world, an Arab "TV presenter" accusing Israel of "rape of sanctity lands," and a Palestinian "attorney activist" accusing Israel of "coloniz[ing] for the purpose of ethnic cleansing."
